Okay, apologies, I’ve been back from vacation for a week and haven’t posted a word. I guess at least half my brain (the thinking part) is still in a canoe up North. But life goes on and there is lots to tell you about.
First off, the now 4 year old E. started kindergarten this morning. She was fine with it, even seemed to be excited about the concept. Her class is only two doors down from her day-care room so it wasn’t like any kind of major new concept or anything. Being the insensitive and clue-less male I am, I wasn’t even planning to tag along for the drop off until W., at the very last minute, made me feel guilty for staying behind. So I pulled on a pair of shorts and tagged along. It wasn’t until the moment of truth was before us that I really realized why I’d been pressed into service: It was because mommy was feeling a bit emotional about the whole thing. Sensitive fellow that I am, I didn’t even think about that part of it. Well, okay, I didn’t really think about any part of it.
In the end nobody cried –– at least nobody cried in my family. There were a whole bunch of other kids bawling their eyes out. so we’ll see how it all went later. I promised E. an ice-cream to celebrate her ascendancy to the ranks of the regularly brainwashed.
Other news coming up soon: update on the doc; surveillance camera footage logs!; what Hal did on his summer vacation; Fall Peep events; plus various bizarre peep news from around the globe! Check back, there will be frequent updates in this space moving forward.
Congrats on her starting school with no tears!
Mine’s in on the 21st but met her teacher last week…cried when we had to leave…and in keeping with my normal fashion, there will be a video blog based on her first day…
Something you might find interesting - schools encouraging the kids to Peep. Alice’ school will be doing video blog/picture/written updates on their websites. It’s a completely new culture being born
